Toy Story Retrospective

Report

This Toy Story-themed retrospective session is designed for agile teams looking to reflect on their last sprint in a fun and engaging way. The session uses characters and themes from Toy Story to facilitate discussion and generate insights. Participants will work through a series of prompts, vote on key issues, and rate the session's effectiveness.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Character Icebreaker:

    • Begin the session by having each team member drop a soldier on the Toy Story character they feel best represents the last sprint.

    • Discuss why each character was chosen to gain insights into team sentiments.

  2. Main Board Discussion:

    • Work through the prompts on the main board:

      • To Infinity And Beyond!: Discuss what went well and where the team excelled.

      • There's a snake in my boot: Identify risks and areas needing caution.

      • Losing health units, must rest!: Reflect on what didn’t go well and areas for improvement.

      • My arm is completely gone!: Discuss any missing elements or recent losses in the team.

      • Where'd ya get that cool belt Buzz?: Explore new tools, ideas, or technologies to adopt.

      • I have a better idea, how about we don't?: Consider areas that need change or rethinking.

      • Golly bob howdy!: Identify where the team is stretched thin or has room to grow.

      • You got a friend in me: Give shout-outs to teammates who were particularly helpful.

  3. Voting:

    • Use alien tokens to vote on the most important tickets or issues discussed.

  4. Session Rating:

    • Conclude by speaking to Bo Peep to rate the session from 1 (Waste of time) to 3 (Productive and useful discussion).

This structured approach ensures a comprehensive review of the sprint while fostering team engagement and creativity.
