Team Workshop Board

Report
  • When I start a new project or even during a project, I like to run a series of workshops to help create a shared understanding among my team.

  • Remember, you are not trying to save the world. You will not solve every question. It is impossible to cram everything into one week.

  • Space out sessions to give people time to breathe and digest information. Include plenty of breaks in your sessions. People are not machines.

  • Take your time, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

  • Prioritize certain workshops over others. This is critical when working with clients/stakeholders. The stakeholders are busy and have limited time. Work out with your team what is most important for you to move forward.

As a recommendation, I like to run these workshops in the first week:

  1. Getting to know one another (manuals for me)

  2. Inception exercise

  3. Create a user research plan

  4. Risk workshop

  5. Stakeholder mapping (Team Onion) - credit to Emily Webber
