Multi-Pass Planning helps bring order to backlog chaos!
This exercise reviews your backlog using a series of lenses and captures data along the way that ultimately end with a roughly ranked and sized backlog - ready for continued focused refinement, delivery, and forecast communications.
This exercise works on backlogs of any size but best suited to around 50 items, or 6 months to 1 year of upcoming delivery.
Best performed with the whole team present so each can speak to their domain expertise (Development team for Sizing, Product Ownership for Importance & Urgency, Both for Review)
Estimated Time Required is ~2.5 Hours for 50 backlog items, or roughly 30 minutes per step.
