Design Concepts
Why use this?
To save time and energy
To avoid locking the team into a particular solution
To test out several possible directions first
What is this used for?
Design concepts help UX designers show customers/users how a product might look and function. Design concepts also are used to elicit feedback from team members.
What are some tips?
Start creating design concepts early in the design process.
Paper sketches work as long as they convey the concept
Get plenty of feedback and iterate on your design concepts before creating wireframes
How do I prepare?
After narrowing down the ideas, use any rapid ideation, such as crazy 8's, to generate lot of early designs. Take the best bits of each of the designs created and use those to create a design concept.
